Are my property taxes too high? Am I
over assessed?
Contact
us for a free consultation to determine if you are over assessed. In
most cases, a quick phone call will help us determine if you are paying
too much.
How
much do you charge?
We
charge a onetime administrative fee of $100 for residential properties
and $250 for commercial properties. You pay NOTHING else unless we save
you money. Once the appeal process is complete, you pay us 25% (30% for
commercial properties) of your first year’s tax savings. It’s that
simple. After the first year, any and all savings are yours to keep. For
example, if we reduce the taxes on your home by $1,500 per year, our fee
is $375 and you retain the remaining $1125; you also retain the tax
savings for all subsequent years as well. The assessment will typically
remain the same for 3 years unless there is a countywide reassessment,
you make improvements to the property or there is a change in ownership
of the property.
Are
there any hidden fees or other appraisal fees?
There
are no hidden fees or appraisal fees. Your only pay our administrative
fee - NOTHING else unless we save you money.
Can my Property Taxes be INCREASED as a
result of your representation?
NO.
Your tax assessment cannot legally be increased as a result of
challenging the assessment.
What are my chances of success?
Your
chances are extremely good! Last year, we won reductions for over 92%
of our clients. The reason for this is because we only take cases that
we feel have a strong chance of success. If we accept your case, you
have an excellent chance of having your taxes reduced.
What if I miss the deadline to appeal /
protest the assessment?
Unfortunately,
there are no extensions to the deadline for challenging the assessment!
If you miss the deadline, you have to wait until the following year to
file a grievance, which is why it is important to act quickly and
contact us right away. Once we enter your information into our system,
this will ensure that you do not miss any important deadlines.
Am I required to attend any hearings?
While
some clients prefer to attend hearings, it is not necessary. Georgia
Property Tax Relief, Inc. handles all the paperwork, filings,
preparation, and appearances on your behalf.
Can
my Homestead exemption (or other exemptions) be affected by filing a tax
appeal?
Filing
a tax appeal will not affect your Homestead exemption or any other real
estate tax exemptions. Your exemption savings continue irrespective of
what happens with your tax appeal.
